Magnolia Rasak

Yoga Instructor & Certified Hypnotherapist

I first discovered yoga at the age of 16, and it was love at first class! From the time I could crawl, I was drawn towards the movement of my body. At a young age I began practicing rhythmic gymnastics, dance and ballet. Expressing myself through movement was a gift in my life. Throughout my childhood and into my early teenage years, I continued to train as a rhythmic gymnast. I was a Junior Olympian, ranked first in the state and a seventh in the nation when I decided to leave this path and open myself to other avenues of movement. Yoga came to me during this transition away from my gymnastics career.

I dove head first into the teachings and practices of yoga, both on and off the mat. My first teacher, Diane Gilbert, in Redondo Beach CA, offered me an authentic glimpse into the heart of yoga. She tutored me one on one for the next two years, and in 2002, I began teaching yoga. My lineage stems from the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya and his son, TKV Desikachar. The roots of my teaching style is based in the practice of Viniyoga, Vinyasa Yoga and the deeper philosophy of the Yogic tradition. My offerings are also influenced by my background in meditation, energy work, and dance/ movement arts.

My lifelong journey into yoga has and continues to be transformational in all areas of my life. My studies have led me around the world, immersing myself in Hatha, Vinyasa, Kundalini, Tantra, and Prenatal yoga, throughout India, Thailand, Mexico, Bali, and the U.S.

I am influenced by the teaching of the ancient sages including Sri Ramana Maharshi, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, Paramahansa Yogananda, Sri Neem Karoli Baba Maharaji , and more currently the teachings of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), Sri Prem Baba, Adyashanti, and Mooji.

I am drawn to the practice of yoga not only for the benefits of the asana practice, but for the greater way in which yoga influences our every action on and off the mat. Non-violence, compassion, awareness, mindfulness, acceptance, and connection to all Beings are at the heart of yoga, and the heart of my teachings.

Yoga is not just a practice I bring solely to my mat, it is the way I live my life. Every action, infused with the intention to live in deeper authentic truth and union. It is the way I move through the world. Yoga is the practice offering of my heart in connection to the world around me.

As a teacher, I utilize the physical practice as a means for deeper exploration into the subtle energies at play in our lives. I guide my students towards a state of physical strength, inner harmony, and self transformation. My intention is to allow my students to cultivate a deeper awareness of their physical body, while simultaneously expanding their awareness between mind, body and spirit.

As a certified clinical hypnotherapist, I utilize my background in yoga, mindfulness practices, neurolinguistic programing (NLP), voice dialogue, Tantric practices, holistic nutrition, Reiki and various self-transformational practices to work with each person.

I discovered hypnotherapy as a modality to support my own personal healing journey. Old memories, hurts, and habits that I seemed to fall back into again and again. I wanted to change my life and heal from the inside out and that led me to hypnotherapy. From my first session I noticed positive changes in my life. Old beliefs and painful memories seemed to affect me less and less. What I wanted to do, believe and attract seemed easier and easier to cultivate, and I found immense freedom and growth in a short amount of time!

I had been working one on one in a coaching format and realized very quickly that what took months to do in coaching or years to do in traditional talk therapy, seemed to happen much faster and more effectively in hypnotherapy. In a handful of sessions, big changes that felt near impossible to change before seemed to shift and loosen with greater ease. While I believe talk therapy and one one one support are invaluable, I knew that I wanted to pursue hypnosis and offer others the possibility of greater change as I had experienced.

Like most things I am passionate about, I immersed myself in certification programs for hypnotherapy, past life regression, NLP, inner child work, voice dialogue and various hypnosis techniques which now serve as the foundation for my one on one hypnosis offerings.

My personal journey towards healing and happiness through the all the ups and downs, twists and turns has guided me year after year to offer more to the world around me. To offer a path of wellness that digs deep to the very Soul yearning of each person. What I offer professionally has evolved from my personal and life long study of healing modalities that have become the catalyst for great change both in my life, and the lives of those I work with.

I see myself as a bridge, here to empower myself and others on this wild journey called life. And it is my deepest desire to offer a path towards a more loving experience of life for all Beings.

May we all come to know peace from the inside out!

From my heart to yours,
